Interested in Joining Us?
We have two types of vendors: Daily Vendors and Lease Holders. We invite anyone interested in vending to read through our [Vendor Handbook](LINK TO VENDOR HANDBOOK).
Daily Vendors
Daily Vendors are always welcome! This is a great way to try out our market and learn what vending is all about without a seasonal commitment.
- We only accept new vendors who produce what they sell, with a strong preference for farmers. Please specify if you are a community group, charity, or fundraiser.
- Fill out our [Farmers’ Market Vendor Application](LINK TO APPLICATION).
- Vendors of prepared foods or serving food must have prior approval from the Health Unit by filling out the Food Vendor Notification.
- We try to make room for daily vendors; summertime Saturdays can be busy, but Tuesdays or Thursdays usually have space.
- Fees: $30.00 per day for a stall, plus a $10.00 per day Farmers Market Association fee. After your 10th rental of each calendar year ($300.00), the Association fee is waived as you become a member.
- Booking: Once you become an approved daily vendor, you must notify the city (jstitt@belleville.ca) and the Farmers Market (BFMPresident@outlook.com) at least 3 days in advance of you wanting to attend the market. Fees to the city are due 2 days (48 hours) prior to your attendance. If you do not pay your fees in advance, you will not have a spot at the market. Once fees are paid then an approval will be given and you will be directed to where you are to set up and times to arrive and a contact at the market if you have any issues. Farmers Market Fees can be paid on the day you attend.
Lease Holders
The City of Belleville and the Belleville Farmers Market Association allocate annual leases for vendors wishing to reserve a booth for the year.
- Vendors must complete a Farmers Market Vendor Application and Lease Agreement each year.
- Returning vendors: Due by November 30th of the previous year.
- New applicants: Due by January 31st.
- Late applications may be considered if additional stalls are available.
- Vendors of processed foods or serving food must have prior approval from Hastings Prince Edward Public Health. Submit the Food Vendor Notification with your application; it will be forwarded to HPEPH.
- Returning vendors have first priority on leases and will receive a renewal package each fall.
- Any remaining lease openings are allocated by the Farmers Market Association Board, with preference given to farmers.
